About

The Children of Mother Hale Coalition, Inc. (CMHC, Inc.) was founded in 2001 by Dr. Kenneth R. Hale (d. 2006), a retired professional educator and adopted son of Mother Clara McBride Hale (d. 1992). The Coalition was coordinated by Dr. Hale and his wife, Joyce Taylor Hale, a professional educator, as well.  CMHC is located and head-quartered in Harlem, New York, the community in which Mother Hale lived and worked for most of her adult life.   It was incorporated as a not-for-profit agency in 2005.

The  Children of Mother Hale Coalition, Inc. was created to ethically preserve and share the humanitarian legacy of Mother Hale in order to inspire others to commit to community service, volunteerism, leadership, and care and early learning for children and their families.
